After a decade of mailing Christmas letters, twelve moves, and four kids, I'm trying a "green" Christmas communication this year. I hope it will be the beginning of a blog for our family...
This year we made yet another big move. Ken took a job with Toppan Photomasks, a Japanese company, in May. We followed him to Texas two months later. The move became our summer vacation - sorry kids. Ken's mom, Vanessa, helped us move into our home and try to get organized & ready for school in a few short weeks. We've all made the adjustment and here's what we're doing now...
Ken is working, biking, cleaning up after dinner (he is on a very long streak of NOT being the broken dishwasher), paying two mortgages, and he is his dog's personal trainer. If that wasn't enough, he is the cubmaster for a group of boys from church.
I am trying (without much success) to organize this house and garage, making big
yard plans knowing I don't have money or time to accomplish them for years, running more regularly than I have in a decade, chauffering kids to school and activites, helping in the primary organization in church, and wondering how I could be getting so old.
Caleb (11) "graduated" from Cub Scouts by earning his Arrow of Light and went on his first Boy Scout campout in November. He is still a Pokemon addict, his latest acquisition is an "Action Replay" which downloads cheats to various games. He loves math and science in school. His favorite reading genres are fantasy and non-fiction. He enjoys piano.

Micah (9) earned his Wolf in cub scouts. He loves Pokemon only slightly less than C. He would rather play with friends than work, eat, or sleep. He is a voracious reader. His favorite genre is fantasy. He still shows promising artistic talent whenever he draws. He wants to join Tae Kwan Do this year.
Sarah (6) entered kindergarten this year. She misses her friend, Livi, very much but has made friends with some neighbors and classmates. One day she wants to dress up as a princess and the next day as a witch. She has been enjoying My Father's Dragon thi
s week. She still plays with Ez often.
Ez (2) is a delight. One day I'll find him dumping dog food all over the floor (yes, and eating it too). The next day he dumps popcorn and dried beans on the floor, and the next hour he is dumping water out of a vase of snapdragons. His language ability is exploding. I woke up one day to his climbing in my bed and saying, "Micah, me, watch cartoons". He loves to play with M and often asks for him while he's away at school.
